Birth can happen really anywhere, expected or unexpected. We have attended births where there were minimal options, such as in a tiny home, to births that happened outside because the opportunity presented itself. When birthing at home, we don’t require any particular spaces or fixed positions, and often times we encourage labor moms to move around or be in a space that feels right to them. There are definitely ways to prepare your ideal birthing space in your home, but it is most important to not be too attached to one particular scenario. Like other aspects of birth & home birth, expect the unexpected.
